Villain analysis of maleficent

In the clip we are first introduced to maleficent, possibly one of disney's best ever drawn villians. The target audience for the film was much younger children and disney had clearly taken this to heart and desisinged her charcter to be a very distinctive and easy to recognise villan and to do this the artists decided to give her a very tall and slender look with very pale grey skin and devil-like horns on her head which would be easy to recognise to much younger veiwers. The way the prodcers also gave her a very soft voice would give the code that maleficent is a cunning and deceptive villain overall

when looking at the character of Heath Ledgers joker, I re-watched this scene and was completely taken back by how the producers had managed to capture the pure insanity that came with casting a new actor to play the joker, Ledger had previously locked himself in a room for extended periods of time with no hardly any access to food or water so he slowly drove himself mad and make his performance the most genuinely believable joker for the target audience of the film that was around 16 - 20 year old's with a good interest in action and superhero films. It should also be noted how Christopher Nolan made the jokers costume and make up very messy and untidy to give the joker a code of being much more wild and unpredictable.

while watching this documentary on Netflix, I found myself immersed in the world of how crooked the tests for PED's was, and how Russia was cheating its own system. the whole documentary is with Bryan Fogel who sets out to prove that anti doping tests in sports are badly run and can be bypassed To do this he enlists the help of Grigory   Rodchenkov. The man who created the tests himself. Grigory creates a plan of steroids which imitates what Lance Armstrong did to win his tour de france wins. the plan proves sucessful until the russian conspiracy is uncovered and the anti doping lab Grigory works at is put into lockdown. the film then follows the events that follows with russia's suspension and the case against russia. I personally love how the documentry keeps making refrences to George Orwell's 1984 and how people are forced into compliance. the tide advert

this Tide advert uses many commonly used media devices which can be seen here very clearly. when first looking at the advert, you immediately notice that the images show a very typical 1950's style housewife hugging a box of Tide. From this, it should be noted noted that the images and text are all hand drawn which is evidence that the advert was made in the 1950's period when all advertising was drawn by hand. this is also backed up by the depicted housewife being shown as the stereotypical hard working wife who would do all of the chores and housework while her husband is working and making money for the family, and from her clothing which is very reminiscent of the period. Countinung to look at the image of the housewife, we also see that she is hugging the box of Tide with small love hearts just above her. this was clearly done by the artist to represent that the housewife values Tide for how it manages to clean her washing so well. this is also suggested by the co...
