rolling stone magazine review

the rolling stone magazine is clearly presented for its target audience of rebellious teenagers by having very vibrant colours and having Johnny Knoxville as the literal centre of attention on the magazine and this is clear when seeing that he is in front of the masthead and him looking directly at the reader is clearly one of the main draw factors for people who might want to read the rolling stone. the use of font is very interesting too with the masthead and head lines being in serif form. it should also be noted that the headlines try to take up as much of the page as possible and they also have trigger words such as Breakup and Jackass so they can also draw as much attention to the reader as possible towards its cover. the general messiness and disorganised state of the cover would also appeal to its younger audience but this may not be the case with no barcode shown on the front cover which would contradict the messy nature of the magazine. the way Knoxville is portrayed by having him stuck as the centre of a target to represent that he is the target for critique for what he does while filming Jackass and his other TV shows the expression on his face would also suggest that Knoxville is enduring through the critique and pain he has had thrown at him

  1. WWW: You describe much of the key content of the front cover. You make an effort to use some key terminology.
EBI: Proofread and correct SPAG errors before you publish. Consider the representation offered by the main image by using your representation analysis toolkit. Be more analyical with your interpretation of messages and connotations constructed for the audience.
