this Tide advert uses many commonly used media devices which can be seen here very clearly. when first looking at the advert, you immediately notice that the images show a very typical 1950's style housewife hugging a box of Tide. From this, it should be noted noted that the images and text are all hand drawn which is evidence that the advert was made in the 1950's period when all advertising was drawn by hand. this is also backed up by the depicted housewife being shown as the stereotypical hard working wife who would do all of the chores and housework while her husband is working and making money for the family, and from her clothing which is very reminiscent of the period.
